New month, new me

I detest New Years resolutions. They’re often short lived and spiritually opposite to how true change is introduced in a lasting manner to lifestyle. Kaizen is the real method for introducing change. Which I typically subscribe to, however the title of today’s blog isn’t related to previously unidentified or inadequately adopted changes that I want to add or remove from my life.

Rather, I know what I should be doing.

I know who I could be.

I’m aware of the mistakes I make and why I make them.

Overall, I’m actually quite proud of myself for the life I have lived since I started this trading journey. The issue arises in that I see myself EVERY DAY failing to live that day to the fullest extent I know I am capable of. I see my shadow, the person that I would have been if I had lived up to my personal promises, or accomplished my intentions.
That shadow haunts me, it truly does.

This month I put at the top of my calendar:
“What would your life look like if you did everything right this month?”

Well, I mean to find that out. I have 31 days in March to do each of the tasks I know I should do each day, and 31 days of abstention from the negative habits or coping mechanisms that I have sought solace in previously.

My life is SO close to how I want it to be. It’s taking it that last 20% that is what I’m addressing here. I know I can do it, it’s just a matter of applying myself and preventing myself from entering spirals where I permit my bad habits.

I withdraw that permission.

So we will see! I personally have high hopes and am excited to have my shadow and my self image meld together as they should be.
