I am so grateful to have good process. To have a playbook I get to expand and refine each day. To have a strong trading partner. To have quality instructional material and research tools. To be in great shape with a consistently healthy lifestyle.
I am grateful for the opportunity to wake up today and get one day closer to netting a penny from trading.
These are actually the best times. When you doubt yourself and go to sleep replaying your errors on your eyelids. When you string red days together and have long hours without immediate feedback. When your results lag the quality of your inputs. When you click in and immediately regret your entry, document it, and move on to the next.
Without a tethering process to improve at I was adrift and I am so grateful for having trading in my life.
Sure when I become greatly profitable that’ll have its own rewards but you never go back to relive the struggle. I fondly remember striving towards profitably for online poker. I fondly remember thousands of hours grinding the starcraft ladder to reach top grandmaster and to compete at MLGs. When you were struggling at the bottom of the ladder, running through your tactical errors over and over, developing the winning heuristics and frameworks that would take you to the next level, only to set out to overcome the next challenges placed in front of you necessary to further excel.
I love the struggle. I become a better trader every day, a meaningfully better trader every week. I am savoring this period because I know when I have a family or other obligations and can’t dedicate my heart and soul to it, I’ll look back and remember fondly when I was trying so so hard to net a penny.
I love the process of personal growth.
